Gundam: Complete Record Books
In 1979 Sunrise released a series of hardcover books covering the Mobile Suit Gundam TV series. This was one of those rare sets I was able to pick up at the Mandarake store in Nakano Broadway (JR Sobu Line). The 6 volume set titled "Mobile Suit Gundam: Complete Record" was released between 1979 and 1980.
Final Yamato "Super Deluxe" Hardcover

Like the Be Forever Yamato hardcover, this was also a book I tracked for years finally ending up by chance with 2 copies (only 1 has the slipcase). It is massive - 10.5" x 14.5" - and West Cape again spared no expense on the content and production. The slipcase is well designed and features the same leather-textured wrap giving the book a very polished look. The book contains a brief history of the series, production notes and sketches, mechanical designs and character designs, and over 140 pages of still photos taken from the film footage.

Be Forever Yamato "Final Deluxe" Hardcover
There are a few books in my collection today that sat on a most wanted list for several years. Not always "rare" by any means, some books were highly sought after due to their production quality, unique features, or history. When West Cape put this hardbound and slip cased book together for Be Forever Yamato, they spared no expense. The slipcase featured Be Forever Yamato in debossed relief along the edge with a leather textured paper wrap. The book itself contains 336 pages of still shots from the movie, production sketches, interviews, advertising materials, music, and pretty much every detail surrounding the production of the movie including storyboards for cut scenes.
