Spitz - Yoru wo Kakeru

While watching episode 16 of Honey and Clover (ハチミツとクローバー) I heard Race the Night (Yoru wo Kakeru - 夜を駆ける) by Spitz - a rock band from Japan.  Spitz formed in 1987 and has gained a huge following in Japan.

Mikazuki Rock - their 10th album features Race the Night as the first track.  The driving beat and melodic delivery lent themselves well to the storyline - echoing the desperate and driven nature of Takumi Mayama (真山 巧). Check out the video below of them performing it live during a 2009 tour.
